How to fix phone lag on Android

People complain about "lag" all the time with regard to their Android devices. This is the delay or slowness seen on the device when it opens an application or swaps between windows. Gaming fans are the ones who suffer most, and lag has caused many a device to be thrown across the room in anger. But there is an app which can help remove lag on Android, and its name is Seeder.

How does Seeder work?

When you browse on your Android device, open applications or play games, files are created in certain folders. These files contain app data, security information, etc. When this data is not found, the device starts to search for it, and this is one of the causes of the slowness and delays.
A developer from the XDA Developer Forum called lambgx02 created the Seeder app, an application that enables the creation of these files, and consequently improves the speed and performance of the devices.

What do I do?

After installing the Seeder app, open it and give it root permissions. Clicking on the top left button will activate the service optimization. Below you will find three options:
  • Suspend RGN service while screen off: This automatically turns off the service when you turn off the screen. Normally, it is recommended to have this option enabled.
  • Extend I/O queue: this function could improve the management of the I/O scheduler, allowing the app greater freedom. Keep it enabled.
  • Start automatically on boot: this means seeder will activate each time you boot the phone.

In addition to these options, you can choose between three performance profiles that control the rate at which the app will perform at: Light, Moderate and Aggressive. The higher the speed, the smaller the number of delays in the most demanding processes, but this obviously affects battery consumption too.
It is important to remember that there are different versions of Android, with various customizations of manufacturers (or custom ROMs). Thus, with so many variables in play, it is possible that the application may not work for some devices.
